BP promotes technical innovation with Colani Truck in a high-publicity event
BP has been running test for 18 months with regards to their new fuel and obtained extraordinary results. The fuel consumption has been measured on an artificially constructed test track and it turns out that the new BP ultimate fuel is very efficient and therefore saves money and prevents environmental damage. With those results in the bag BP was looking for a cost-efficient and effective way to present their achievements to the public. A road show was the perfect tool for that. Under the slogan “drive greener and save money”, two events have been completed. The events consisted of four Ford cars and instructors who gave advice in short driving lessons on how to drive greener. However, the main attraction of the events was the futuristic tractor in Colani design that represents the slogan of the road show perfectly. The aerodynamics allows the Colani to save up to 30% of fuel in comparison to regular tractors. On the trailer two simulators were placed which also allowed people to check their green driving skills. Furthermore the exclusive VIP room of the trailer served as a communication area with experts from “Energy savings”. Additionally four promoters activated pedestrians to participate in the event. Numerous merchandise products were distributed from the truck.
Quentin Willson, host of the event and well-known TV journalist in the UK was amazed by the Colani truck. When interviewed on stage of the truck he again pointed out the importance of fuel efficiency nowadays.
“Huge thank you’s to both of you for all of your hard work and skill in the planning and delivery of this weekend’s Green Driving Tour. The trucks looked amazing - and worked incredibly well. BP were delighted with them.” – Ben Way
